  • What is Bondix XP SD-WAN and how does it work?
Bondix is a smart software solution that links several internet connections together, such as mobile (4G/5G), fiber, and WiFi. At your site, the Bondix “client” device splits your data into packets and sends them over all available internet lines at the same time. On the other end, the Bondix “server”—which can be in the cloud, your office, or a data center—gathers, sorts, and reassembles these packets in the right order before sending them out to the internet. This design means your connection is faster and much more reliable—if any one line fails or gets slow, your data keeps moving smoothly through the others.
  • What are the main benefits of using Bondix?
With Bondix, you get higher internet speeds by combining all your connections, minimal downtime (nearly 100% uptime is possible), and better security as your data travels different paths. It also helps to avoid relying on a single type of connection, reduces ISP lock-in, and provides flexibility to grow or adapt as your needs change.
  • What deployment options are available for the Bondix server?
Bondix servers (also called endpoints) can be: On-premises: Hosted on your own hardware inside your building. Cloud-hosted: Use Bondix servers in the cloud. There are over 4,000 Points of Presence (POPs) spread across 131 countries, so you’re close to a server wherever you are. Hybrid: Combine on-premises and cloud for extra redundancy and flexibility. You can even migrate between them as desired.
  • How secure is Bondix XP SD-WAN?
Bondix uses multiple security layers: Encryption: All your data between client and server is fully encrypted. Distributed path security: Your data is split up and sent over multiple links, so intercepting your complete traffic is vastly more difficult for attackers. SASE compatibility: Bondix fits easily into state-of-the-art security models like Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) and Zero Trust, meaning your organization stays protected and compliant with best practices.
  • Does Bondix XP SD-WAN support VPNs?
Yes! Bondix is designed to work with common VPNs, including WireGuard, OpenVPN, and IPsec. You can run your existing VPN inside the Bondix “tunnel” without changing your policies or setup, getting the benefit of both enhanced bonding and your usual secure connections.
  • Does Bondix XP SD-WAN support IPv6?
Absolutely—Bondix is “dual-stack.” That means it works with both legacy IPv4 addresses and next-generation IPv6 addresses at the same time, making it ready for now and the future.
  • Which OEM hardware partners are “Bondix Optimised”?
Bondix is available on devices from Teltonika, Advantech, Digi International, and Mediaport Systems, with more brands joining regularly. “Bondix-Optimised” means smoother deployment and maximum performance, but Bondix can also work on many standard routers, Linux devices, or virtual machines.
  • Can I mix different hardware vendors at my site?
Yes—you can mix different brands (such as a Teltonika router and a Digi modem) on the same Bondix network at the same location. Bondix is hardware-agnostic and built for mixed environments, so you’re never locked in to a single vendor.
  • How much does Bondix XP SD-WAN cost?
Licenses range from 23€ to 100€ per month, depending on how much bandwidth (speed) you require. This makes it accessible for small sites, IoT, and large enterprise offices (plus GST if in Australia).
  • What bandwidth licensing tiers are available?
Bondix offers these options: IoT: 20 Mbps Standard: 100 Mbps Enterprise: 200 Mbps Ultimate: 500 Mbps Velocity: 1 Gbps Stratos: 2 Gbps Choose what matches your needs, and you can upgrade as you grow.
  • Where can I access Bondix Cloud servers?
With over 4,000 POPs in 131 countries, Bondix Cloud is available almost everywhere in the world. Connecting to a nearby POP means stable speeds and ultra-low latency for your operations—ideal for global businesses or distributed teams.
  • Will Bondix make my internet faster?
Usually—yes. By bonding traffic, Bondix uses the combined speed of all your lines (within your license limit), giving you higher throughput overall. For example, two 50Mbps lines can give you nearly 100Mbps of usable bandwidth, plus better failover.
  • What happens if one of my internet connections goes down?
There’s no interruption—Bondix instantly reroutes your traffic through the other working lines. Failover happens in fractions of a second, ensuring you stay connected and ongoing sessions (like calls or file transfers) continue without dropping.
  • How does Bondix decide which WAN connection to use for each packet segment?
Bondix continuously checks every connection for speed, latency, and reliability. Its smart algorithms then choose the best path for each data packet, ensuring that sensitive or urgent packets (like voice or video) get the fastest, most reliable link. Bulk traffic is spread out for best overall speed and efficiency.
  • Can Bondix prioritise certain WAN links or types of traffic?
Yes. With Bondix, you can set detailed rules to prioritize (or avoid) specific connections. For instance, you might prefer to use fiber for normal use, and mobile data only for backup, or prioritize video calls on the most stable line. This makes it easy to manage costs and quality for different applications or scenarios.
  • Does Bondix offer Quality of Service (QoS)?
Definitely. Bondix features built-in, advanced QoS. It detects hundreds of application types (from Zoom to gaming to backups) and gives top priority to the most important traffic. You can fine-tune this with your own business rules, so everything works as you intend during busy times or fails.
  • Can I set up custom rules for which traffic uses which connection?
Yes, Bondix supports comprehensive, policy-based routing. You can direct particular applications, sites, times of day, or user groups over your preferred connections. Administrators can automate this or make manual adjustments.
  • What other advanced controls does Bondix offer?
Bondix allows you to create detailed policies: prioritize emergency links, set cost-saving policies, define bandwidth guarantees per application, and monitor the health of each connection. Monitoring tools give you insight to optimize performance at all times.
  • Does Bondix support Layer 2 (Ethernet) bridging?
Yes! Bondix can create what’s called a Layer 2 tunnel, which means it can extend your local network over the internet to another site—including support for VLAN tags and full Ethernet frames. This enables your remote locations to operate as if they’re in the same office, with MAC addresses and local traffic all working seamlessly.
  • Can Bondix handle jumbo frames—even if my carrier doesn’t?
Yes, Bondix supports jumbo frames regardless of whether your internet provider does. Here’s how: within the Bondix tunnel, jumbo Ethernet frames are broken down (“disassembled”) into small-sized segments before crossing your providers’ networks, and then reassembled when they reach the other side. This allows you to benefit from large-packet performance even over connections that wouldn’t normally support them.
  • Does setup require special hardware or IT skills?
No special skills are needed, and no proprietary hardware is required. The Bondix server can be set up on Linux, VMs, on prem or a server the cloud . “Bondix Optimised” hardware makes setup even easier. The software is user-friendly, and certified partners are available for extra help. For cloud based Bondix services such as Bondix essentials or Bondix Cloud the set up time from license purchase to up and running is typically less than 5 minutes.
  • How does Bondix differ from simple “failover” or “load balancing”?
Unlike basic failover (which merely switches to backup after a failure), Bondix uses all links at once, sending packets across all connections for both increased speed and seamless redundancy. You don’t lose sessions and applications maintain session persistence even when one connection breaks. —it’s automatic and truly uninterrupted.
  • Is Bondix good for remote, mobile, or temporary setups?
Yes! Bondix is perfect for locations on the move (such as emergency vehicles or construction sites), live broadcasters, pop-up offices, or anywhere a reliable connection is needed with limited infrastructure. It bonds WiFi, mobile, satellite, and wired connections as needed.
  • How do I test or trial Bondix?
You can trial Bondix instantly using its cloud infrastructure—no server installation or special hardware is needed to start. Try its features, experiment with various connections, and see the value before purchasing.
  • What support options are available?
Bondix and its authorized partners provide comprehensive support, from system design and installation to ongoing maintenance, updates, and troubleshooting. Assistance is available directly and via local resellers worldwide, ensuring you’re never on your own.
  • Will Bondix congest my network by utilising multiple wans instead of using just the best link?
Bondix actually decongests your network by intelligently optimizing bandwidth across all available WAN links based on continuous, real-time monitoring of their latency, bandwidth and packet loss. This overcomes the "best link fallacy," as the optimal path for data can change from one moment to the next. Because our process adds minimal overhead, all your available bandwidth is used for production traffic. This results in a single, perfectly reassembled virtual connection that is faster and more resilient than any individual link on its own.
  • What are the benefits of choosing hardware from a “Bondix Optimised” Partner platform such as Teltonika?
Choosing a “Bondix Optimised” partner platform like Teltonika means our software is deeply integrated with the hardware, delivering superior performance with higher throughput and lower latency. This guarantees seamless compatibility and ensures the solution is fully supported by both companies, with regular firmware updates that include our latest enhancements. Ultimately, it provides a stable, high-performance bonding solution with access to unique features not possible on generic hardware running Bondix.
  • What are the benefits of Bondix being cross platform (XP)?
The primary benefit of Bondix being cross-platform is the freedom to avoid vendor lock-in, allowing you to deploy the best hardware for any situation. This means you can easily manage a mixed fleet of devices from different "Bondix Optimised" vendors, all operating seamlessly together on the same network and connecting to the same Bondix endpoints.
